We bumped into the deputy manager on our way out and handed him our complaints form together with the flannel. He was very apologetic.
Unfortunately, in our hurry to get to the airport, we forgot to remove some valuable items we had put in the safe in our room. We phoned the deputy manager just before boarding to inform him. He was very good and sent the items by DHL to our home free of charge - we consider this a good gesture.
1. Not a very warm welcome at reception (no welcome smile when checking in nor when checking out)!
2. The water (as indicated on the bathroom tap) is not drinkable, so the tea/coffee making facilities are not of much use – water should be provided for this purpose
3. One of the flannels/face-cloths in the bathroom was already soiled when we arrived – though I think (and hope) that this was an unfortunate one-off incidence!
4. In my view the room we stayed in did not merit 5 star rating (very shoddy repairs to bathroom window, old and dirty bath, for e.g.). We had just stayed 3 nights in the 5* Kempinski on Gozo - there is NO COMPARISON !!!
