Great location and nice terrace
Rooms can be improved
Hotel was in a great place for experiencing the sights of Valletta. The hotel staff were beautiful, in particular Marc (who was completing a double shift) he could not have been more attentive and pleasant, he was a delight. The breakfast, meals area had the best views of the Port. What a way to spend breakfast.
The hotel is in bad need of a renovation of some sort. Whilst its a historic hotel it really needs to update its decor badly. Some rooms were better than others. Ours was small (for 2 adults and 1 child) and had the most dated carpet, walls, curtains, bedding and the airconditioning definitely did not work. I could not wait to leave the room. Its a shame as it has real potential because of the history and location.
Aucune vue de la chambre. Mais le petit déjeuner sur le toit compense, avec une vue sur extraordinaire sur les 3 citées.
Pas de vue sur la mer en promotion, (80€) donc pas de vue du tout sauf la fenêtre d'en face.
friendliness of staff.
Magnificent historical building. Close to everything. Great experience.
Its location
Lack of shelves in the bathroom, fluctuating water temperature in the shower
Staff was very welcoming.
Good price.
The hotel is not well maintained. My towel was all torn and the rooms could look much more appealing with a little more effort.
Great position. A lovely faded splendour. Overall, great suroundings and position, good value and nice people.
Electrics in room a bit iffy.
Location
Airconditioning did not work
Food and location
We asked for a double bed but this was not done till night 2
Rooftop restaurant service was slow needs more staff
Clean. Friendly competent staff. Simple rooms, but clean, cool, and comfortable. Nice window and upper deck views. Very well located and well-priced for exploring the Valletta area. We enjoyed both the breakfast on the upper restaurant and food in the the pizza restaurant in the cellar.Would recommend the hotel.
(Roofdeck restaurant) After eating out, we returned to the hotel hoping to get a coffee and dessert. Went to the roofdeck restaurant, and they were about to seat us, until they understood we were just going to have coffee and dessert (it was about 9:30-10pm, with lots of guests eating, and also a couple empty tables). Then the host said, "Oh, I'm afraid that's not possible." He sent us to the pizza restaurant in the cellar. This may be a cultural thing, but we found it inappropriate to refuse service, especially because it seemed they'd seat us for a full meal, but not for dessert. The host knew we were guests in the hotel as well.
