Teechers

Remember your school days? Reports, the dreaded detentions, fancying the teachers and trying to avoid the bullies? This March, the Gozo Creative Theatre Club will take you back to the classroom with this fast moving, inventive and highly entertaining smash hit comedy, Teechers by John Godber.

Teechers vigorously evokes life at a modern comprehensive school. Set in Whitewall Comprehensive, Teechers is the tale of three underachieving delinquents, Hobby, Gail and Salty and their last year at school, featuring evil Mr Basford, eccentric head Mrs Parry, as well as chirpy Miss Prime, and school lunatic Oggy Moxon. Mr Nixon, a newly qualified drama teacher, arrives to find that life at the school will be a massive challenge. Cynical colleagues, obstructive caretakers and naughty students all combine in a blur of quick witted and loveable characters. Can Nixon and his students manage to make it through to the end of term with their sanity intact?

George Mizzi will be directing a splendid group of actors which include George Camilleri, Charlene Galea, Miriam Debono Curmi, Sharona Refalo, Marc Schembri and Andy Fava.

The Gozo Creative Theatre Club is well known for its experimental theatre performances which are innovative and create challenging forms of expression. This list of previous productions include The Vagina Monologues, Cindy – the Musical, In Holland Stands a House, Kickass Plays, Confusions, The Good Doctor, Dear Nobody, The Second Coming of Joan of Arc and The Penis Monologues.

Please note that the seating for this performance is limited and therefore advanced booking is highly recommended.
